In an effort to ensure the provision of quality health care to women of reproductive age and children under the age of five years, Five health facilities in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State have undergone a 72-hour makeover.
The facilities affected by the makeover are, General Hospital Toro, Nabardo, Magaman- Gumau, Gumau and Tilden Fulani Primary Health Care centres which are part of The Challenge Initiate (TCI) support to the state to uplift the PHCs and improve family planning units.
While commissioning the newly renovated facilities, State Commissioner of Health, Dr Zuwaira Hassan Ibrahim, said that the government is determined to strengthen Primary Health care, routine immunisation, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health as contained in the 5 point health agenda of the present APC led administration.

She said that the TCI Business unusual model has brought innovations in providing quality health care to the people and urged husbands to always accompany their wives to access child birth spacing services.
Executive Chairman of State Primary Health care Development Agency, Adamu Ibrahim Gamawa said that the state has adopted the TCI Business Unusual Model as it is cost-effective, and involves the use of local resources.
He said the number of women accessing Childbirth Spacing Services has improved as FP clinics are now wearing a new look and have privacy and commodities.
State Project Coordinator of TCI, Mrs Rabi Ekele said that the five facilities in Toro bring to fifteen such facilities that have received 72 hours makeover in three local government areas of Toro, Bauchi and Katagum.
Rabi Ekele also. said that TCI is aiding governments to take the lead in proving qualitative health care to women and children especially CBS services.
