A regional socio-cultural group, the Southern Youth Forum (Inc) has passed a vote of confidence on the administration of President Bola Tinubu while praising him for his practical approach to repositioning the economy on the path of progress.
The National President of the group, Pastor Bassey James expressed optimism that the economic reforms of Tinubu’s administration would alleviate current economic hardships and improve the living standards of Nigerians.
Speaking during a press conference on the state of the nation held in Lagos, on Monday, leaders of the group said the Nigeria project is working.
James who doubles as the chancellor of Akpaboism Centre for Leadership Development said, “President Tinubu has shown great courage and determination to rebuild the economy of Nigeria including the security of the Nation and the tax reform.
“Leaders of affiliated groups met to pass a vote of confidence on the policies of the President. We have seen the efforts of the federal government in addressing several issues plaguing the country. We therefore condemned in strong terms attempts to downplay the several achievements of this administration.
“We acknowledge the local government autonomy which has become a reality after many decades. The refineries are bouncing Back, the coastal roads across the South-south, Southwest and Southeast is ongoing, the Northern and southern Nigeria’s economic Blueprints is visible through the Development Commissions which has been approved. For the first time in Nigeria, President Tinubu created the Ministry of Livestock Development to improve food security and advance the livestock industry.
“Also, the Nigerian student loan programme has seen the light of the day, this alone will improve and contribute to the educational development in Nigeria.”
The Southern Youth leaders also commended their counterparts from the North for the show of solidarity and support for the President’s agenda on national development.
Southwest coordinator, Abiodun Adegalu said, “We are prepared to team up with our brothers from the North to build a united and stronger Nigeria. We are proud Mr president is uniting everybody. There is a sense of belonging and he must continue to pursue whatever will bring peace and development in the country.”
Diaspora coordinator, Mr Emeka Obielom said President Tinubu, has displayed readiness, doggedness and the required capacity to renew the hopes of Nigerians and set the country on the path of greatness.
He disclosed that arrangements have been concluded to host the National Youth Leaders conference in Abuja, Lagos, Kaduna, Owerri and Uyo.
He said, “For his pragmatic policies and especially the increase in crude oil production and for quality leadership in the last one and a half years, we passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Nigerians need to be patient with Tinubu as the current economic hardship the country is going through has a fixed time to elapse.
“We urge the citizens to continue to give his administration the support to celebrate the second year anniversary.”
