The Nigerian music industry has welcomed 20-year-old Aluko Toluwanimi, known by his stage name Taves.

Taves who hails from Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, has emerged as a promising force in the music industry.

His journey began when Nigerien artist BNXN, formerly known as Buju, stumbled upon Taves’ cover of his track ‘For Days.’

Impressed by the young talent’s distinct vocals, BNXN recognised potential in Taves, taking on the role of mentor to guide him on his musical odyssey.

The year 2023 marked a pivotal moment for Taves as he secured a major deal with Atlantic Records through TYE, expanding his influence across the music scenes of the UK and Africa.

This strategic move is poised to catapult Taves to new heights, solidifying his position in the industry.

Taves’ deep-rooted passion for music traces back to his formative years, specifically to the memorable road trips with his father.

It was during these journeys that he first encountered the soulful melodies of Nigerian singer Asa, adding another layer to the rich tapestry of the African sound.

Today, Taves takes center stage as a rising Afropop sensation, unveiling the visuals for his latest single, ‘Eleyele.’

The music video, directed by TSE & Tundecutz, promises a captivating visual experience that complements the sonic allure of Taves’ music.
