The Bishop of Owo Anglican Diocese, Rt Rev Dr Stephen Ayodeji Fagbemi, has urged the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Ayedatiwa, to continue the legacies of the late Rotimi Akeredolu, stating that his indelible footprints remain etched in the history of the state.

Fagbemi made this statement in Owo during the Thanksgiving service in honor of the late Akeredolu, held at the Cathedral Church of St. Andrew, Imola, Owo, on Sunday.

He mentioned that Akeredolu’s administration was characterized by monumental development strides, focusing on education, infrastructure, and rural development, among other areas touched by the late governor.

According to him, the late governor set a legacy and pace with his unique style of leadership, and his administration will continue to be remembered by generations unborn.

The Bishop charged the state governor, Ayedatiwa, to continue with the legacies of the late Akeredolu and drive the state towards unprecedented development.

“The legacies expected to be delivered at the end of Akeredolu’s eight years must not be abandoned. Strive to continue with the good legacies of the late Governor in the areas of security, infrastructure development, and in taking care of the poor in the state. Maintain Akeredolu’s legacies.”

In his homily titled “Look Unto God,” the Bishop of Owo Anglican Diocese stressed the need to always seek only God’s face.

The Bishop, while highlighting the good work done by the late Governor, urged the family to always celebrate Akeredolu, even after his death.

“It’s the nature of man to die. Aketi did his best but God has taken him away. I want to appeal to you to celebrate his life and not mourn like unbelievers.

Speaking on behalf of the late Governor’s family, the immediate younger brother, Prof. Wole Akeredolu, thanked Nigerians and the people of the state for celebrating the life of the late Akeredolu.

Other dignitaries included Royal fathers; lawmakers led by the majority leader, Hon.
