Again, suspected vandals have brought down two electricity towers belonging to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) in Kasaisa village in Yobe State.
The village is on the outskirts of Damaturu, the state capital.
The destructive act has resulted in a widespread power outage in the area, thereby plunging the state capital and its environs into total darkness.
The incident marks the second time in three months that such an attack has occurred, striking just one month after TCN had repaired the facility and restored power supply to the region.
Recall also that, in January, yet-to-be-identified vandals brought down the towers in Nassarawa village behind the FedPoly, Bauchi.
The recurring nature of these incidents underscores the urgent need for enhanced security measures to protect vital infrastructure and ensure uninterrupted power supply for the residents of Yobe State.
