A GANG of daredevil gunmen struck last Sunday along the Auchi-Igarra road at about and abducted a Catholic priest, Rev. Father Isaac Agubi.
The gunmen who are suspected to be herdsmen kidnapped the clergyman, the priest in charge of Holy Name Catholic Church, Ikpeshi, in Akoko-Edo local government area, about 230 km North of the Edo State capital of Benin.
Meanwhile, a lecturer of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi and four others who were kidnapped in Edo central, have regained their freedom.
The victims were said to her been kidnapped by River Ose bridge, along Ifon-Uzeba-Kabo road, near Owan West Local Government Area of the state.

They were however released after a ransom of over N600,000 was allegedly paid by their relatives.
A source said the victims spent four days in the bush before they were released by their abductors.
The Edo Police spokesman, Mr. Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident said that the cleric was abducted by gunmen who took him away in his Toyota Corolla marked LAGOS SMK 252 FC.
Nwanbuzor, a deputy superintendent of police disclosed that a team of crack policemen with the support of the local vigilantes were quickly mobilized to go into the bush, when the report was made, in a determined bid to rescue the man of God from the deb of his captors.
