Supreme Court Judgement: Bauchi stands still as mammoth receive Gov Bala

Following last Monday Supreme Court Judgement that upheld the election of Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir as duly elected Governor of Bauchi State, commercial and social activities stood still on Tuesday as thousands of supporters and residents of Bauchi trooped to the state capital from across the 20 LGAs to receive the Governor back to Bauchi saying that he has forgiven all those who wronged him in the process.

All the major roads in the state capital were besieged by the jubilant people who trooped out, causing total gridlock for hours where a drive of about 20 minutes from the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport to the state capital took the crowd close to 4 and half hours to enter the metropolis.

Our Correspondent who was part of the anxious crowd discovered that the mammoth crowd blocked all the major roads in the metropolis jubilating and chanting songs of solidarity and support for the Governor.

While addressing the supporters and other stakeholders at the Government House later in the evening, Bala Mohammed expressed shock over a large number of the people who welcome him after his verdict at the apex court and pledged to remain focused in other to meet their expectations.

The governor who said he has forgiven whoever offended him before noted that he will not tolerate sabotage by any other person regardless of his capacity because according to him, their love and support is a challenge to him to work tirelessly towards overcoming the challenges affecting the progress of the state.

He also said that in the next four years, his administration would ensure all the sectors of the economy are working without any hitches.

On his part, the state PDP Chairman, Hamza Koshe Akuyam while thanking them for their support, appealed to the citizens to renew their prayers for the success of the administration.
