A not-for-profit organisation, SupportiFly, has announced it’s intention to support fasting Muslims throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
In an announcement on their Instagram handle, the organisation stated that ₦5,000 will be given out to two fasting Muslims everyday for the entire 30 days of Ramadan.
SupportiFly Program Director, Yusuf Balkis, stated that the initiative was to assist indigent fasting Muslims due to the harsh economic crisis in the country.
She said, “We believe it is not worth it for Muslims who have fasted throughout the day to go to bed without appropriately breaking their fast.
“We believe that this will ease fasting for these set of people and make it easier for them.”
She further stated that SupportiFly aims to help people grow, relieve property, protect the environment, fight for human rights and support community development.
She added, “We’re a community of people trying to restore hope, promote educational value and create a better country.”
Also, it was announced that indigent Muslims should look out on their social media handles immediately Ramadan starts to jump on the opportunity.
