The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Anti Corruption, Senator Aliyu Wamakko has urged Nigerians to assist the various Anti – Corruption Agencies, to effectively fight the menace of corruption, at all levels of the country.
Senator Wamakko, who is also the immediate past Governor of Sokoto State and represents Sokoto North Senatorial District, spoke on Wednesday in Abuja, at the Policy Dialogue Meeting on Accountability for Security Votes, organised by the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission ( ICPC).
Wamakko commended the ICPC, for organising the Dialogue, which according to him was timely and critical to Nation Building.

He further lauded the efforts of all the Anti-graft Agencies in the country for ensuring that the ugly trend of corruption in Nigeria is reduced to the barest minimum.
Also in attendance were: the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Chairman, Nigeria Governors Forum, the ICPC Chairman Prof. Bolaji Owasanoya, Lt. General Tukur Burutai, Chief of Army Staff, as well as the Representative of Kaduna State Governor, among others.
Meanwhile, Senator Wamakko was also honoured in Abuja in grand style by the chief of Defence Staff, General A. O. Olanishakan at the Defence College.
This is according to the statement signed by his special assistant on media and publicity, Bashir Rabe Mani, and released to journalists in the state.
The event which took place during the Annual Conference on Women Peace and Security, in Abuja, has as its Theme, “Gender Mainstreaming in Armed Forces of Nigeria for Peace and Security.”
