Suave Empire has empowered 33 youths while seven winners were awarded business inputs worth more than N1 million naira each through its Nigerian Youth Fashion And Empowerment Week (NYFEW) 2021.
The leading fashion brand in the city of Ibadan awarded the seven lucky participants gift items which included landed property courtesy of RO & Co Property Limited, a trip abroad courtesy of UFITFLY, and a tabletop machine courtesy of Zinsu Tech Nig. Ltd, capacity development training/ program courtesy of OSC Fashion College, 360 Creative Hub, Mahogany International, FacePlus, Suave Fashion Academy and Suave Models Africa. Stonehenge, Goldmender, Spice TV, Hip TV and SoundCity also gave their support.
The Suave Empire chairman/CEO, Mr Matthew Kehinde Ogunniyi, in his inaugural address said, “This is the beginning of the new dawn as we promised to uplift more people during these trying times of our dear nation. We will continue to empower youths, make them self employed so that they can be their own boss”.

Ogunniyi also stated that the NYFEW is a youth-focused empowerment organization that was birthed with a mission to educate, empower, expose, advance, and contribute to the growth of talent and intellectual abilities of skilled youths in the fashion value-chain in Nigeria.
He also went further by saying the broader vision is to be the biggest empowerment organisation in Africa with a focus on training, educating, equipping, supporting, and empowering youths from all backgrounds to facilitate their entrepreneurial success.
One of the awardees, Sarah Adesemoye, was recognised as the most creative fashion Illustrator with brand named Shinne.
Isah Rizwana also won the most creative fashion designer category with the brandname Rizins Fashion house.
Lucas Praisewon the most creative shoemaking with brand name The Shantel.
Arohunmolase Gideon won the most creative with brand name TG Coal.
Olasiji Temitope was the most creative makeup artist with brand named Toov Beauty.
Vincent Ayomide won the most creative hairstylist with brand named Main barber, and Kareem Timileyin won the best male model with brand named Pires. Nwabuka Chinelo was the best female model with brand named Nelo matilda.
Also, Sakirudeen Rahmat, a bag designer, won business input worth over N500,000 for being the overall outstanding participant among all other 33 participants in the NYFEW 2021 programme.
Ogunniyi also said NYFEW has executed its purpose consistently so far with five brilliantly executed empowerment projects across Nigeria, making a total number of 190 youths that have been empowered through NYFEW project.
He added that “We help skilled youths, especially in fashion value-chain vocations to hone their vocational skills because we believe that there are Innovative endless possibilities in the world of the youths.”
