THE major opposition party in Nigeria, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned President Muhammadu Buhari to desist from deploying military personals to terrorise zones he is not sure of winning in the forthcoming presidential election.
This was disclosed by the national chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus today, when PDP was in Jalingo, Taraba State capital on the presidential campaign rally.
The PDP national chairman stated this in response to a statement accredited to the Chief of Army staff that the military has drafted military operations to some zones that seem to pose challenge to the National security.
Secondus also warned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from engaging into any form of act that would create room for rigging in the forthcoming general elections.
He said rigging the coming election is to cause crisis in Nigeria and it will be seriously resisted by Nigerians.
Secondus also revealed that from all polls conducted and consultations recently made by the party from majority of states in Nigeria, it has been proven that there are bright chances for the presidential candidate of PDP, Atiku Abubakar to win the coming election.

He further stated that with the large turn up by the people of the state to receive the PDP presidential campaign team has proven that the party will win with landslide, come February presidential polls.
In his address, the presidential flag bearer of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar also called on the security not to be involved in electioneering process but should remain neutral for the interest of Nigeria. He said the responsibility of security in elections is to monitor to keep peaceful environment.
Atiku, who was visibly excited over the overwhelming crowd that turned up to receive his entourage at Jolly Nyame Stadium, called on the youths in the state to go all out to vote and protect their votes.
Atiku also promised to end hunger, create jobs for the youths, complete the long awaiting Mambila Hydro Power and also ensure that peace returns, not only in the northeast, but in Nigeria at large.
