Stop killing in the name of Allah, Ganduje warns Kano people

Published by

Kano State governor, Honourable Umar Ganduje, has reiterated his commitment to end killings of Christians in the state, just as he urged the people to allow Allah to fight for Himself.

The governor said there was no place in the Holy Quran where faithful were encouraged to kill when mocked or evil spoken against the name of Prophet Mohammed.

He charged anyone to prove him wrong on this.

He said a body of select Islamic scholars, Khadimul Islam, had been constituted to monitor and put an end to killings in the name of Allah.

“When the gods became weaker and blind, the followers tend to rise up and fight for the gods,

“Allah is not weak, nor blind. Our God, Allah, can fight for Himself and His followers, so, no one should fight in the name of Allah again,” the governor said.

“Khadimul Islam remains the force to stop the ignorant killings and destruction of property in Kano State. It will also educate Kano populace on the need to desist from taking laws into their hands.

“My leadership will remain focus in securing lives and property of Kano people.

“Both Christians and Muslims are creations of God. If our fellow Christians don’t take arms to fight for Jesus Christ or God Almighty, why then my Muslim brothers kill in the name of Prophet Mohammed or Allah?” said Ganduje,

Ganduje urged other Northern governors to also put structures on ground to end killings in the name of religion in their respective states.
