American rapper, Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, popularly known as Cardi B, has addressed rumors about her being pregnant with her fourth child, asking to be respected.
While walking out of a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday, the rapper was approached by a journalist who asked about the speculation linked to her ongoing divorce from Offset and her relationship with NFL player Stefon Diggs.
After being asked about the possible paternity of her rumored child, Cardi B took a pen from someone requesting her autograph but quickly shifted her focus to the reporter.
“Stop disrespecting me,” she said after seemingly tossing the pen toward the journalist, according to a video of the encounter shared on Instagram.
“You’re disrespectful. Don’t do that.” Cardi, who has children Kulture, 7, Wave, 3, and Blossom, 11 months, with Offset, further challenged the journalist’s approach, questioning the double standards in how women are treated by the press.
“Do you see women asking those types of questions to me? Why do you feel, as a man, you get to ask me those types of questions?” she asked.
Before getting into her SUV, she advised the reporter to “Act like you have some manners and your mama taught you to respect women.”
Cardi’s court appearance was tied to a lawsuit from a former security guard who accused her of assaulting him outside a Beverly Hills obstetrician’s office in 2018.
She acknowledged having a verbal exchange with the plaintiff but denied the allegations of spitting or scratching her.
