Your last week’s answer to the definition of an Optometrist was not very clear to me. Kindly help me to clarify it. Thanks.

Optometrists are first degree holders who can diagnose eye diseases and give glasses or contact lenses while Ophthalmologists are Medical doctors who after their MBBS go on to specialize as Eye Surgeons after 4-6yrs to obtain a fellowship of a Postgraduate College. The optometrists’ Dr. Is simply “Doctor of Optometry” and not that of a Medical Doctor.
