Stable forex market, curbing inflation necessary for availability of lifesaving medicines — Pharmacist

The Federal Government has been told to prioritise a stable forex market and curb inflation in a bid to ensure lifesaving medicines remain accessible in Nigeria.

Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Vanguard Pharmacy, Mr Taofeek Odukoya, who made the call at the opening of the 11th outlet of Vanguard Pharmacy in Ibadan, said a synergy of all stakeholders was important in tackling these challenges that are inimical to safe, high-quality medications in the country.

Earlier, the National Chairman of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria, Mr Adewale Oladigbolu, said any society without pharmacies would shortchange itself of quality medicines, drug information, and reduction in harm from side effects of medicines.
