The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, on Friday congratulated Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun on her swearing-in as the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administered the oath of office to the Acting CJN at the Council Chamber of the State House in Abuja.
Justice Kekere-Ekun succeeded Justice Kayode Ariwoola, who retired on August 22.

The Speaker, noting the pedigree of the Acting CJN, expressed confidence that Justice Kekere-Ekun would implement reforms to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Nigeria’s judicial system.
Speaker Abbas affirmed the readiness of the 10th House to collaborate with the judiciary under Justice Kekere-Ekun’s leadership to further strengthen Nigeria’s democracy.

While wishing the Acting CJN a successful tenure, the Speaker urged her to uphold the principles of fairness and justice in this important national role.
Speaker Abbas also commended Justice Ariwoola for his efforts in reforming the judicial arm of government and wished him a happy retirement.
