Dele Momodu, Sophia’s uncle, has commented on the ongoing custody dispute between Sophia and the renowned musician, Davido.
Momodu clarified that Sophia did not initiate legal action but is simply seeking to protect her child, Imade.
In a detailed statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, July 6th, 2024, Momodu emphasized that the court recently referred the case to its alternative dispute resolution (ADR) section for potential settlement during Settlement Week.
“It is crucial that David (and Sophia) actively participate in this process rather than resorting to damaging statements on social media,” Momodu urged. “Such actions not only contravene the law but also endanger the best interests of their child.”

He continued, “Over the past nine years, I have endeavored to facilitate amicable resolutions and encouraged both parents to establish a proper framework for their daughter’s welfare.”
“It’s important to note that Sophia did not initiate this legal action; her goal is solely to protect their daughter and establish a structured, safe, and sustainable relationship between father and child,” Momodu stated.
“Both parties should refrain from engaging in inflammatory rhetoric in the media, as it only exacerbates what is already a distressing situation for all involved, particularly the child,” he concluded.
