The Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) has stressed the importance of standards in achieving Sustainable Development Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).

The emphasis was made by James Danladi, the North-East Regional Operations Officer of SON, as the office joined the international community to celebrate World Standards Day with a walk rally through the streets of Bauchi metropolis.

According to him, “Standardization is crucial for Nigeria’s economic growth and development,” as he led major and minor companies to showcase their efforts and share his vision for better products in the world.

He explained that the Standards Organization of Nigeria has instituted initiatives and implemented policies aimed at promoting industrial growth and building a strong economic foundation.

“These efforts align with President Tinubu’s administration’s renewed hope agenda,” James added, stressing that SON works with international partners to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, ensuring peace, prosperity, and well-being for all.

James Danladi praised staff, National Technical Committee members, and global experts for their tireless efforts in developing and maintaining standards on this day, October 24, 2024, recognized as Standards Day.

ALIND Cable Manufacturers in Bauchi and other companies joined the rally.
