The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has continued its raid on dealers of suspected substandard and fake electric cables in Oyo State markets.
This, the Federal Government agency said it embarked upon in line with the mandate of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), as empowered by SON Act 2015.
The raid of the state markets lasted for two days between September 9 and 10.
In a statement by the team leader, Mr Sani Mohammad, the Head of Operations of SON, he said the organisation cannot fold its arms and watch dealers of fake and substandard products, as they constitute economic sabotage and endanger the health and safety of Nigerians.

Also, in an interview with the State Coordinator, after the raid, Mr Pious L. Manji, he enjoined Nigerians to always look for the SON mark of quality on the products before purchase, they are also free to visit any SON office across the 36 states or call SON toll-free line for experts to advise before purchase.
He also sent a word of advice to traders and importers of substandard products that SON is on their trail to ensure that they are dealt with according to the law of the land.
He said the products confiscated/put on hold will be forwarded to SON electrical laboratory for analysis to further confirm their quality status.
