A team of security operatives made up of soldiers and policemen on Friday invaded the Abuja home of Mary Odili, a justice of the Supreme Court.
Special Adviser (Media) to the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Ahuraka Isah, confirmed to Saturday Tribune on Friday night that a combined team of policemen and soldiers stormed Justice Odili’s residence in an operation.
He, however, said the invading forces could not gain access into the residence as the justice’s security guards resisted them.
Isah said the security agents went there with a search warrant.
Justice Odili is the wife of Dr Peter Odili, a former governor of Rivers State.
The security operatives were said to have identified themselves as members of a joint task force.
Reports said the security operatives claimed that they received information on “illegal activities” going on in the residence.
Online reports said several persons were seen seated at the front of the judge’s residence Friday night.
Meanwhile, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday night denied involvement of its operatives in the invasion of the justice’s house.
