Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has condemned a viral video showing a bullying incident involving students of Igbinedion Secondary School in Edo State.
The singer reacted to the footage circulating on social media in a post shared on X on Sunday, describing the act as disturbing.
“F***ing Animals… so disgusting,” he wrote.
In the viral clip, two male students were seen beating and kicking another student who lay on the ground. One of the students was also captured dragging the victim by his suit and stomping on his chest as the boy cried in pain, while a third student who recorded the incident pleaded with them to stop.
The video triggered widespread outrage online, prompting swift disciplinary measures by the school authorities.
According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, Eno Ikioedem, the school management had expelled the students directly involved in the bullying.
The statement added that the student who recorded the incident had been suspended.
It further disclosed that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Monday Agbonika, had directed the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area to commence a thorough investigation into the matter.
“The Edo State Police Command totally condemns acts of bullying, violence, or intimidation among students, and anyone found culpable will be dealt with in accordance with the law,” the statement said.
The command also noted that investigations had begun and assured the public that all those found responsible would be arrested and prosecuted in line with the law and their respective ages.
