As part of her efforts to empower vulnerable people, the Executive Secretary of Solid Mineral Development Fund, Hajiya Fatima Shinkafi, has distributed cash assistance to 100 women and persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Zamfara State.
The ceremony was held in Gusau, the state capital, with the inauguration of the office accommodation of Fatima Umar Shinkafi’s foundation headquarters in the state.
Hajiya Shinkafi, who was represented by the foundation’s chairman, Mubarak Sani Maigerema, said the foundation was established to assist the underprivileged people across the state.
He explained that 100 women and persons with disabilities (PWDs) were empowered with cash assistance to enable them to start petty trading businesses for their livelihood.
He maintained that the assistance will be extended to 14 other local government areas of the state as part of her efforts to empower the underprivileged.
Also, an executive of the foundation, Nura Shinkafi highlighted that Hajiya Shinkafi’s foundation has planned more community-based intervention with the aim of providing sustainable impact to beneficiaries in the state.
He stated that the foundation has inaugurated an office in Gusau where it will coordinate the programmes of assisting the people in need.
While inaugurating the foundation’s office, the Emir of Gusau, who was represented by the Secretary of Gusau Emirate Council, Alhaji Sambo Sambo, acknowledged the efforts of Hajiya Shinkafi for the support and assistance of people in the state, particularly, PWDs.
