Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, Elisha Abbo, who was arraigned on one count of assault on Monday has pleaded not guilty.
He was arraigned on Monday by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police at Zuba Magistrate Court, Abuja.
The senator had earlier apologised to Nigerians, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and women in general, following a viral video in which he was seen physically assaulting a lady.

Recall that Senator Abbo appeared in a viral video where he repeatedly slapped his victim for intervening in an argument between him and the owner of the sex toy shop.
Tribune Online also recalls that the senator also apologised in a press statement he issued last week.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command also interrogated the lawmaker last Thursday and subsequently detained him for 24 hours.
