Settle your differences, Rev Okoh tells Ibru family

THE Primate of All Nigeria, Most Rev Nicholas Okoh, has urged the Ibru family in Delta State to settle their internal differences.
Okoh made the appeal on Wednesday at the funeral service of late Chief Felix Ibru at the Diocese of Ughelli, All Saints Cathedral Church.

Okoh, who was the officiating minister at the event, said the good name of Ibru must not be rubbished, but kept intact.

According to him, there is no profit for anyone to gain the earth and loses his soul to hell.

Okoh urged all Deltans to show concern about the differences existing in Ibru’s family.

“I appeal to the Ibru family to settle their differences; Ibru is a great name that cannot be destroyed.

“The younger Ibru must be zealous for the name, while the older ones should struggle for the name.

“Do whatever you can to make peace, resolve issues and let things go,” he said.

Okoh, who picked his sermon from Revelations 7, verses 9, to the end, said death was a pointer to what can come at anytime.

“Our being here today is not to cry for death but to reflect on what happened to us at the end.

“This time to make amend and right the wrongs,” he said.

Late Felix Ibru, the first civilian governor of Delta State, died on March 12, 2016, at the age of 80.

Ibru was also a senator in the fifth assembly between 2003 and 2007 and also a former President-General of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU). He hailed from Agbarha-Otor in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta.

In attendance were: the Delta governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, Gen Samuel Ogbemudia(rtd), serving senators in the three senatorial districts in Delta among other dignitaries.
