In a shocking move, Senator Masud Doguwa, a former Senator representing Kano South federal constituency, has defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Doguwa, along with his supporters, announced their resignation from the APC, citing feelings of underutilization and disappointment with the party’s direction.
In a statement released on Friday, Doguwa said, “After wide-range consultations with our people, we have decided to resign our membership from the APC and all its committees, effective immediately.”
The senator accused the APC government of implementing anti-people policies, stating that they were rarely involved in party forums to share their expertise and contribute to the party’s development.
This defection is seen as a significant blow to the APC in Kano state, as Doguwa is a prominent politician with a large following. The move is expected to boost the PDP’s chances in the state.
