Nigeria’s upper Chambers of the National Assembly, the Senate has been urged to expedite action on the confirmation process of the appointees to the board of the South-East Development Commission (SEDC) to enable it take-off without further delay.
The call was made by Hassan Alabura, Chief Executive Officer of Alabura Construction Limited who noted that the SEDC has a critical role to play in driving development and growth in the subregion.
In a press release issued by his office over the weekend in Gombe, Hassan Alabura opined that the SEDC when fully operational will bridge the gap of development in the subregion just as it will open up more employment opportunities for the people.
He therefore commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for inclusion of the Deputy National Financial Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Hamma Adama Ali Kumo, popularly known as Dattuwa as a member of the SEDC Board.
The Entrepreneur praised the nomination stating that Hamma Adama Kumo is a strong and influential APC stalwart at all levels of political scene of the country.
He added that the appointment is a testament to his exceptional leadership qualities, dedication to regional development, and commitment to the welfare of the people.
According to him, “We are thrilled to hear about Hamma Ali Kumo’s nomination to the SEDC governing board. This appointment is a well-deserved recognition of his tireless efforts to promote development and growth in the region.”
Hassan Alabura expressed his confidence that Hamma Adama Kumo will make valuable contributions to the commission and drive meaningful growth in the region with his wealth of experience and expertise.
“As grassroot mobiliser, Hamma Adama Kumo’s appointment is a plus to the APC in view of his loyalty hard work and generosity and I believe his appointment will add value to the commission and the APC government in general.”, he said.
Hamma Adama Kumo was appointed into the board alongside other notable personalities, including Emeka Atuma as the head of the SEDC Governing Board and Mark C. Okoye as the Managing Director/CEO of SEDC.
