The Senate has postponed the resumption of plenary earlier scheduled for Tuesday, 28th January 2025.

The Clerk of the Senate, Andrew Nwoba, disclosed this to lawmakers in a memo gathered by Sunday Tribune.

The memo, addressed to Senators, attributed the postponement to the ongoing budget defence before Senate Committees by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

It further revealed that the Red Chamber would now resume plenary on Tuesday, 4th February 2025.

The memo read in part: “Dear Distinguished Senators, Please be informed that there is a change in the resumption date due to the ongoing budget defence. It has been rescheduled from Tuesday, 28th January 2025, to Tuesday, 4th February 2025, at 11:00 a.m. prompt.

“Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Best regards.”
