Security operatives conduct show of force in Kaduna

Security operatives in Kaduna on Friday conducted a show of force in Kaduna metropolis and environs for the  conduct of peaceful elections.

The security agencies involved in the show of force were  1 Division Garrison of Nigeria Army , Nigerian Air Force, the Nigerian Police, NSCDC, DSS, and FRSC.

The Brigade Commander 1 Division Garrison Kaduna, Brig -Gen Jimmy Akpor said the show of force was to   create an enabling  security environment for a hitch-free General Elections.

He disclosed that the same composition of security forces and agencies also carried out Show of Force in Zaria, Kachia and Birnin Gwari simultaneously to show their resolve to guarantee a secure environment before, during and after the elections.

According to him,   “In line with the Nigerian Army timeline for the 2019 General Elections, all formations were tasked to conduct simultaneous Show of Force in major cities and towns within their various Areas of Responsibility.

“With respect to the Show of Force in Kaduna Metropolis, more than 67 assorted oprational vehicles and 438 personnel of various Services, forces and agencies participated.”
