A medical doctor, Lawan Ado, has been arrested by security operatives in Katsina for allegedly providing medical care to notorious bandits, including a wanted kingpin, Usman Modi Modi.

The arrest was made following intelligence reports linking Ado to the treatment of wounded bandits.

According to sources, Ado confessed to treating several injured bandits at their hideouts across the state.

He revealed that he had been paid for his services, which included treating Usman Modi Modi, who had been wounded in a clash with the Yan Kyanbara vigilante group.

Further investigations have uncovered that Ado had traveled to multiple locations to treat bandits, supporting their illicit activities.

The arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the fight against banditry in Katsina, as authorities intensify efforts to dismantle networks supporting bandits in the state.
