Security: Gov Abiodun approves recruitment of 1,000 Amotekun corps

Governor  Dapo Abiodun has approved the recruitment of 1,000 Amotekun corps, to boosts security in Ogun state.

In a bid to strengthen security across Ogun State, Governor Dapo Abiodun has approved the recruitment of an additional 1,000 Amotekun Corps personnel, bringing the total workforce to over 2,000.

 

He also pledged to provide more operational resources, including patrol vehicles, electric motorcycles, and communication gadgets, to enhance their efficiency.

The governor made this announcement during the passing-out parade of 690 Batch D Amotekun trainees held in Sagamu. He lauded the Corps’ crucial role in bolstering grassroots security, reducing unemployment, and complementing federal security agencies’ efforts in safeguarding lives and property.

 

Governor Abiodun commended the new recruits for their discipline and commitment, urging them to prioritize intelligence gathering and community policing in their operations.

 

The Commandant of the Amotekun Corps, Brigadier General Alade Adedigba (retired), expressed confidence in the trainees’ preparedness to confront security challenges and appreciated the state government’s continuous support.

 

The colorful ceremony featured cultural displays, awards presentations, and demonstrations by the graduating trainees, signaling their readiness to contribute to the state’s security infrastructure.

 

Governor Abiodun reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring Ogun State remains safe and prosperous, emphasizing that security remains a top priority.
