A school administrator, Dr Wilson Nwaneri, has solicited for increased focus on education for national growth and development.
Nwaneri, who is the Proprietor of CityLight International School, said this during the school’s annual graduation ceremony, in Owerri, on Friday.
While commending the graduands for their dedication to studies, Nwaneri congratulated them for diligently reaching the academic milestone, while thanking God for the gift of life.
He extolled the parents and other guests for gracing the event while charging students who won various awards not to let their light dim in the interest of themselves and the larger society.
He said: “only a well educated population can birth a better society and brighter future” in fact, today was a huge success and we thank God for everything for He really helped us”.
He commended the students fot performing credibly well.
The administrator thanked the teachers for their inputs despite all odds to lift the schools and prayed for more strength and God’s abundant blessings to impact more on the students and pupils.
In his speech, the Principal, Mrs Mercy Enyi, charged the graduands to live up to expectation and to be great ambassadors in society.
Expressing his words of appreciation, one of the parents, Mr Stephen Onuoha from Amaraku Isiala Mbano LGA noted that the standard of education in the school is topnotch owing to the evident and laudable impact in his three Children, commended the management and staff for their tutelage.
He commended the management and staff for their efforts while urging them to keep the flag flying.
She said: “I am happy to have my Children school here and encourage other parents who don’t have their children and wards in CityLight International Schools to bring them here as they will be inculcated with the right trainings to be better individuals” , he said.
Also, the Vice Principal in charge of Academics, Mrs Emmanuel Linda who assessed the overall performance of the students and pupils of the school, noted that “they did very well and the hope is very high for improvement” .
A highlight of the event was the presentation of awards of excellence to five patrons of the institution in recognition of their immense contributions to the growth and development of education as well as their induction as members of the school’s advisory board.
The awardees were Mr Samuel Osigwe; Mr Sebastine Ihemedu; Mr Paul Kanu; Mrs Nkiru Scholar and Mr Sylvester Ogbaji.
