Saving the masses from penury

The economic hardship in the country is now unbearable and worrisome. Sadly, nothing is forthcoming from the people in the corridors of power to save members of the public from abject poverty.

The essence leadership is to prioritise the welfare of the citizenry, but what Nigerians are experiencing now is antithetical to the definition of a leader! The prices of essential commodities are skyrocketing everyday while income is becoming insufficient as a result of the massive increase in the prices of commodities in markets nationwide.

My question is this: when are we going to enjoy the dividends of democracy in Nigeria? Plans are ongoing to formulate a new party. But the fact is that the formulation of a mega party is not what we need at the moment because it cannot ameliorate the ongoing hardship in the country.

What we actually need as Nigerians is good governance and welfarism. Good governance is lacking.

In recent times, 17 military personnel attached to the 181 Amphibious Battalion in Delta State were killed unexpectedly! Some Northern parents are now afraid of allowing their wards to get involved in Western education owing to the incessant kidnappings in the region.

There is erratic power supply everywhere these days and it has negative effects on the economy of the country. Our dear president Bola Tinubu should intervene as a matter of urgency on the sensitive issues in the country before things get out of hand.
