The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Dr. Owolabi Olakulehin, has described the death of the Chairman of Northern Chiefs in Southern Nigeria, Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin Katsina, as a sad loss.
He acknowledged Katsina’s role in fostering a harmonious and peaceful relationship between the Arewa community and other ethnic nationalities in Ibadanland and across Southern Nigeria.
“The demise of Sarkin Sasa marks the end of an era characterized by peaceful and harmonious relationships among ethnic nationalities and the Arewa community in Southern Nigeria.

“His 125 years on earth were eventful, as his good deeds impacted the Arewa community in Ibadanland and across the nation.
“Sarkin Sasa’s passing is a sad loss not only to the Hausa/Fulani community but also to the good people of Oyo State. The vacuum created will be difficult to fill.
“I pray that Almighty Allah grants him Aljannah Firdaus and gives his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin Katsina, who passed away on Saturday, was buried on Sunday according to Islamic rites at his residence in the Sasa community, Akinyele Local Government Area, Ibadan, Oyo State.
