Former Kwara Governor and Senate President, Bukola Saraki, has intervened in the issue of high airfare on the Ilorin route.
The intervention comes as a welcome relief to residents of Kwara State, who have been grappling with exorbitant airfare prices.
Saraki’s intervention came about as he approached Overland, the major airline flying into the Ilorin airport for a rethink on the current airfare into the airport for affordability.
Saraki had informed that he contacted Captain Edward Boyo, owner of Overland to discuss modalities on how to give airfare into the Ilorin entry point a human face
He further affirmed that the discussion was fruitful and that Capt. Boyo had assured that he would look into how to effect changes.
It is expected that his efforts will lead to a reduction in airfare prices and improved air services to and from Ilorin, the state capital.
The Ilorin route has historically been plagued by high airfare prices, making it difficult for residents to access air travel. Saraki’s intervention is seen as a significant development in addressing this challenge.
