He described the elder statesman as a democrat and experienced politician passionate about good governance and the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.
Senator Adefuye will turn 80 on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

“Senator Adefuye served Lagos State and Nigeria passionately as a member of the Senate during the aborted Third Republic. He is a true democrat and one of those who fought tirelessly in defence of democracy following the annulment of the June 12, 1993, presidential election.
“Since entering partisan politics, Senator Adefuye has remained one of the most respected leaders and prominent voices in Lagos State politics.
He is an uncompromising, disciplined, and principled politician. His contributions as a member of the Governance Advisory Council are invaluable,” the governor said.
As Senator Adefuye joins the league of octogenarians on August 14, 2024, Governor Sanwo-Olu prayed that God would grant him good health, enabling him to continue serving humanity, Lagos State, and Nigeria.
