The Bauchi State Police Command has announced the assumption of duty by Commissioner of Police (CP) Sani-Omolori Aliyu as the 46th Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command.
CP Aliyu officially took over leadership of the Command on Friday, 28th March 2025, succeeding Auwal Musa Muhammad, who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) and reassigned to Zone 3, Yola.
Upon assuming office, CP Aliyu expressed profound gratitude to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for the trust and confidence placed in him. He reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to serving with professionalism, dedication, and a results-driven approach to ensuring the security and safety of Bauchi State.
Born on 13th February 1969 in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu is a seasoned law enforcement officer with over three decades of distinguished service in the Nigeria Police Force.
He was enlisted as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) on 10th June 1994 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts.
CP Aliyu has held several strategic positions across various state and zonal commands, demonstrating his depth of experience in law enforcement.
His previous assignments include serving in the Katsina State Command as Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) in Kankia and Daura, Officer in Charge of the Quick Intervention Unit (Department of Operations – SHQ), and Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Sandamu and Staff Officer Junior (SOJ).
In Edo State Command, he served as Staff Officer Senior (SOS), while in Kaduna State Command, he served as Divisional Police Officer in Gwantu, Zonkwa, and Kauru.
In Nasarawa State Command, he was the Divisional Police Officer in New Karshi, while in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, he served as Divisional Police Officer in Kuje, Utako, and Old Karshi FCT, as well as Area Commander, Kubwa.
At Zone 7, Abuja, he served as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration & Finance), while in Bauchi State Command, he was Area Commander, Bauchi Metropolis. He also served in Gombe State Command as Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
CP Aliyu Sani-Omolori has made significant contributions to police training and development. Between 2007 and 2011, he served as a Directing Staff/Trainer at the Central Planning and Training Unit (CPTU) of the Police Staff College, Jos.
He has also undergone extensive professional training, including the Junior Command Course, Tactical Leadership & Command Course, and the Senior Executive Course 46/2024 at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos, where he was conferred with the prestigious title of Member of the National Institute (mni).
CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu is a devoted family man, happily married with children. In addition to his professional commitments, he enjoys playing Scrabble and Tennis.
