GOVERNOR Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has assured of the completion of the Saki Township road stretching from Oke-Ogun polytechnic to Ilesa-Baruba Road before May 29.
This is as he assured of the completion of Baptist High School, Saki, which is one of the three model schools project of the current administration, before leaving office.
Ajimobi gave these assurances during a meeting with traditional rulers at Saki, as part of his campaign tour of Oke-Ogun zone of the state.
He expressed displeasure at the slow pace of the projects in Saki, especially decrying the 42 per cent completion report on construction work by the state ministry of works.
Ajimobi however assured that he was undaunting in ensuring that contractors handling the road and the three model schools projects in the state deliver before handing over as governor.
“Our administration will be the first to construct a dualized road in Saki since the existence of this ancient community and with the level of work I have seen, the road will be completed before our departure in May.

“Road construction projects are ongoing in many areas of the State. I am not happy that we are yet to complete this Oke-Ogun Polytechnic to Ilesa-Ibariba road in Saki, but like I said, this road is getting completed soon.
“Also, I’m not happy that the model school projects in the state have not been completed. Saki was strategically picked for the model school and it was because of delay in completion of the project that we disengage the contractor.
“The State Ministry of Works has been mandated to complete the construction work which is today at 42 percent completion. I want to assure you again that this model school project will be completed before my administration leaves.”
On the campaign train which toured Itesiwaju, Kajola, Iseyin and Saki, Otu, Okaka, Iwere-Ile, Iganna, Ipapo, Ilero, Okeho, was the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Chief Adebayo Adelabu.
The tour also saw Ajimobi donate ten motorcycles to the Arewa community in Saki while enjoining them to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari and other candidates of the APC in the forthcoming elections.
He urged Saki residents not to vote for parties without presidential candidates, noting that such parties lack the required relevance and seriousness.
“I advise you not to vote for any party without presidential candidate. Vote massively for Buhari and all APC candidates. By now we have seen that the Northwest and Southwest votes are for Buhari and with this calculation on ground, these two zones are enough to ensure Buhari and our party’s victory.
