In a bid to ensure the safety of its employees, customers and the communities at large, SafeBoda Nigeria has organised a sensitisation programme to educate riders on the need to observe all traffic rules while driving.
The sensitisation programme which took place in Ibadan, Oyo State at the weekend, focused on educating motorcycle riders on safe road practices which will essentially reduce road accidents.
Olaoluwa Arokoyu, Country Director of SafeBoda Nigeria, in a statement, disclosed that the programme was also organised to appreciate the riders and the state government for their cooperation with the organisation since it launched in the state.
He said the event was organised to celebrate their riders who have been diligent while carrying out their duties, adding that the platform focused on providing them with an easier way to earn a livelihood.
Arokoyu further lauded the Oyo State government, the Nigerian Police and the Federal Road Safety Corps for aiding riders and ensuring road rules and regulations are followed.
The Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Oyo State, Paul Okoduwa in a statement lauded the SafeBoda team for organising the programme.
He urged SafeBoda to focus on the health status of riders, and ensure that they educate them against drink driving, use of phones while driving, tailgating, night travel, overloading, expired motorcycle licenses, non-adherence to highway code, and to observe COVID 19 safety protocols.
Okoduwa also sensitized the rider on the 2021 ember month public enlightenment campaign themed “maintain a safe speed, avoid night travels and enjoy quality road experience.”
