United States President, Donald Trump claimed that Russia disrespected his predecessors, Joe Biden and Barack Obama, but held him in higher regard.
“They broke it with [former President Joe] Biden, because Biden didn’t respect him. They didn’t respect [former President Barack] Obama. They respect me,” Trump said after a heated exchange with Senator J.D. Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The statement came in response to a reporter’s question about the possibility of Russia breaking a ceasefire. Trump dismissed the concern, saying, “What if they — what if anything? What if a bomb drops on your head right now? OK, what have they broken? I don’t know.”
Trump then brought up the “witch hunt” and allegations that he colluded with Russia to win the 2016 presidential election.
“Let me tell you, Putin went through a hell of a lot with me. He went through a phony witch hunt where they used him and Russia, Russia, Russia,” he told reporters in front of Vance and Zelenskyy.
