Rotary Club of Elebu supports pregnant women with delivery items

Rotary Club of Elebu metropolis has extended a hand of support to pregnant women in Ibadan, with crucial materials which will make their delivery seamless.

Through its maternal and child health project, Rotary Club of Elebu, recently, donated items such as: Delivery bed, bed spreads, baby weighing scales, delivery couch detergents and other medical items to the Oyo State Primary Health Centre, Odo-Ona Elewe, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital to aid smooth delivery of babies at the health facility.

Speaking with SaturdayTribune shortly after the donation, President, Rotary Club of Elebu metropolis, Rotarian Adewale Adesina, who led other members to the venue of the items presentation said:”We are at the Oyo State Primary Health Centre, Odo-Ona Elewe, Ibadan, to carry out our usual humanitarian service which says a lot about what Rotary is all about.

“This month, we are expected to go around, particularly hospitals, to boost maternal health all over the country. We chose this health facility for this year’s outreach to deliver some items we feel they need to complement what the government is doing in that regard.

“Rotary is an organisation of professionals who come together from different fields to put our talents and resources together to support humanity all over the world.”

While acknowledging the receipt of the items donated and showing appreciation to the club, Officer in Charge of the Oyo State Primary Health Centre, Odo-Ona Elewe, Ibadan, Mrs Florence Oguntuase, thanked Rotary Club of Elebu metropolis for the kind gesture, promising that items donated will be put to judicious use, while seeking more support from the club.
