In a spectacular showcase that combined the love for luxury and fashion with craftsmanship, renowned creative designer, Mai Atafo, in collaboration with world-renowned Scotch whisky brand, The Macallan, recently showcased the Spring/Summer ‘24 collection at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island. The fashion show, themed ‘Sartorial Reverie’, attracted an esteemed gathering of over 700 guests, who watched 70 models in 90 outfits strut the runway in style.

Expressing his delight at the success of the event, Brand Manager, Edrington Portfolio, Nigeria, Hammed Adebiyi, said: “The ATAFO brand perfectly exemplifies The Macallan’s dedication to craftsmanship and the peerless spirit. And this showcase presents a unique opportunity to reinforce our commitment to Nigeria’s vibrant creative industry.”
Speaking on the collaboration, Creative Designer, ATAFO, Mai Atafo, expressed that, “I feel honoured to be partnering with a brand like The Macallan; they recognise the value of an event of this magnitude, and that is something special. Usually, fashion is overlooked when it comes to sponsorships. So, having The Macallan do this with me is very noteworthy. The collection ‘Sartorial Reverie’ is a celebration of my commitment to elevating the craftsmanship at ATAFO, and nothing emphasises mastery like The Macallan.”
With a mix of sophisticated yet modern range of garments that cater to life’s various occasions, the menswear featured formal silhouettes inspired by ATAFO’s signature designs like the ‘schaket’ and ‘tradxedo’; while the women’s wear introduced a fresh, more feminine approach that merges contemporary design with traditional Nigerian style.
As the evening turned into night, the stylish guests knew that they had truly witnessed a stylish prelude to fashion season and a showcase of craftsmanship, excellence and innovation at its peak — qualities that The Macallan has been committed to for nearly two-hundred years.
