NIGERIAN singer-songwriter Riich Mic is carving out his place in the music industry with his powerful storytelling and dynamic vocal delivery. Born Chinaza Michael Iroh in Ohafia, Abia State, the rising star is gearing up to release an EP that speaks directly to those struggling with fear and self-doubt.
Sharing the inspiration behind the anticipated project, Riich Mic explained, “This project is for people who are holding back from breaking free, from leaving their comfort zone to pursue something bigger. It’s for those who are demoralized and can’t find the strength and courage to chase their dreams. It is okay to fail, but what is not okay is not getting up and trying again and again until you get it right. It’s going to be tough, but you have to be even stronger to beat the tough times.”
While the EP stays true to his signature sound, he emphasizes that it will take a more personal approach, allowing listeners to connect deeply with his journey. “They’ll get to know me, my story, and my struggles, which I know many people can relate to,” he added.
Beyond his upcoming release, Riich Mic is focused on expanding his reach beyond Nigeria. “Charity, they say, begins at home. I have measures set out already to make an impact in Nigeria and Africa in general. I’ve also made contact with promoters and entertainment enthusiasts from the diaspora. My team and I are putting in the work with the hope that our efforts will yield good results by the grace of God,” he shared.
When asked about his celebrity crushes, Riich Mic revealed an appreciation for several powerhouse female artistes. “I have a lot of them,” he admitted with a laugh. “Tiwa Savage, Adele, Sia, Ayra Starr, Rihanna. This is not just because they’re beautiful and physically attractive, but also because of the work they’ve put into their craft and how far they’ve come in their careers. Even as women in the entertainment industry, their amazing vocals and beautiful music resonate so much with me.”
