RIGHTS activist, Chief Rita Lori-Ogbebor, on Wednesday in Lagos debunked the rumour doing the round that she is dead, saying she was alive, hail and hearty contrary to the rumour being peddled by her detractors that she had passed on.
Lori-Ogbebor said this at a press conference which took place at her residence in Surulere area of the State, expressing shock and sadness at the development.
According to her, those behind the death wish were people who never liked the struggle she had all along engaged in to “drag the Warri kingdom out of the mud and precipice which they want us to descend,” vowing not to be deterred as the “struggle and crusade must continue.”
“There have been rumours that my enemy passed on but I am in flesh and blood to debunk such evil stories perpetuated by evil wishers. Please be assured that I am hail and hearty by the special grace of God.
“It is the evil wish by people who want me dead because of the struggle to drag the Warri kingdom out of the mud and precipice which they want us to descend, so my dear friends, sons and daughters of our land, this struggle and crusade must continue,” she said.

The woman activists said she had before now raised the alarm that some persons had concluded plans to attack her over her comments in unfolding political scenario in the country, especially Delta State.
She added that: “We are in court with these people who have embezzled our money and by the grace of God the law will catch up with them. Even at this stage where the courts have frozen the accounts, these evil men have gone to open other accounts to siphon Itsekiri money.
“We cannot allow people who ruled for the past sixteen years and brought us nothing but shame and degradation to continue to do so. Another four years of any kind of rulership or representation by these people will wipe us off the face of the earth. It will be nothing short of slavery. They will have the opportunity to steal our money if they are in the government.”
She lamented that certain individuals that plundered the resources of Delta State, saying they were using their ill-gotten wealth to suppress them.
