Our attention has been drawn to our Online publication of 17th February, 2025 with the title “DSS STORMS LAGOS ASSEMBLY AMID LEADERSHIP CRISIS” where we reported that the security tension occasioned by the presence of the officials of the State Security Service (SSS) was connected with the change of leadership at the House of Assembly.
We have since discovered that the DSS was specifically invited to the Lagos State House of Assembly via a letter dated 14th February, 2025, signed by the acting Clerk of the House. Mr. A.T.B. Ditun, to provide “Enhanced Security
Measures For LSHA Premises” as well as to forestall an imminent break down of law and order.
We hold the DSS in high esteem as we did not intend to malign the organisation in anyway.
We hereby retract the report in entirety and equally apologise for this mix up.
