For many, the word single sparks instant discomfort. In today’s society, singlehood is often viewed as a state of loneliness, something one must escape from quickly.
But where did this idea come from? Is it society’s narrative or a perception we’ve created for ourselves?
Being single is neither a punishment nor a tragic phase of life. My dear, it is not a death sentence.
Rather, it can be seen as a waiting room, a period of preparation just like my partner’s unique definition for it in this video.
Consider the process of air travel: before a passenger boards a plane, they pack their bags, organize their documents, and make sure everything needed for the journey ahead is in place.
The waiting area is not wasted time; it is a place of readiness.
In the same way, singlehood is that waiting room. It’s a season that prepares you financially, socially, academically, spiritually, physically, and mentally for the future.
It is a time of personal development and self-discovery. But how? That’s why I’m attaching this video for you to see.
This stage of life should be recognized not as a lonely journey, but as a phase of refinement and growth. For many people who have experienced romantic relationships in the past, transitioning into singlehood can feel frustrating.
The absence of constant attention and companionship can be difficult. However, this shift offers a new beginning, an opportunity to intentionally choose yourself, to grow, and to be whole for yourself and for others.
Yes, for others too. Real love starts from within. You cannot truly give healthy love without first doing the work within. That is one of the greatest gifts of singlehood: it teaches you to become a complete individual before merging with another person’s life.
Singlehood should be valued, not rushed through.
