Member Representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Ebonyi and Chairman House Committee on Reformatory Institution, Rt. Hon. Chinedu Ogah has called on women to be a role model to their children for a better home and country.
According to Ogah represented by his wife Mary Ogah, women have a greater role in the life of their children to be either useful or useless.
Mrs Ogah, gave the charge while distributing food items worth millions of Naira and 155 bags of fertilizer to women of her constituent during their August meeting held at Agubia Primary School, Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi State.
She also encouraged the women to always love and respect their husbands to foster peace and Unity in their family and beyond as the Governors Wife Mrs Mary-Maudaline Nwifuru is putting all efforts in promoting women inclusiveness in government through her foundation the Better Health for Rural Women, Children, and Internally Displaced Persons (BERWO).
She said “As a wise woman, you must be diligent in your duties, you must be upright, you must not be saucy to your husband, you must correct your husband when you think he is going wrong, and support him in a very polite manner. A wise woman always sit up and make sure that she doesn’t sleep until her husband is back from work”.
She also encouraged women not to deny their husbands their bodies most especially their breast. According to her, it will help their love not to fail and also help the women to fight cancer of the breast.
“So as a wise woman, in as much as we are working hard to give our children the best, to make our home perfect, we should not forget to take care of ourselves. It takes nothing to take care of yourselves and join hands to build a perfect home. BE A ROLE MODEL TO YOUR CHILDREN always remember that you have someone who is looking up to you.
Chairman of the occasion and wife of the Speaker, Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Mrs Florence Ije Odunwa, commended the women for their participation and advised them to keep their homes free from conflict.
South East Coordinator of Association of Micro Credit Institute of Nigeria, Princess Comfort Nweke, empowered women in agriculture with seedlings and organic farming input and urged them to embark on aggressive farming to eliminate hunger in the State.
The event was attended by representatives of the Wife of the Governor of Ebonyi, Commissioner for Women Affairs. Felicia Nwamkpuma, Euphemia Nwali, and other dignitaries, including local government officials and women’s groups, features Lectures on nutrition, better health living and other topics by Igwe Chinedu and Mrs. Monic Ogada, medical outreach, dancing competition beauty contest awards presentation, cooking competition and cultural displays.
