Reno Omokri, a renowned author and social commentator, emphasized that a man professing love does not automatically take on the role of a parent or provider.
Reno made this statement on his social media page X on January 2, 2025, to advise singles, particularly women, to wake up and rethink the dynamics of modern relationships.
”If a man professes love for you as a woman, he does not automatically become your parent and provider.”
According to Reno love should never come with financial strings attached.
”His profession of love is not tantamount to an employment letter. It does not mean billing starts immediately and indefinitely. He does not owe you. Your bills and thrills are not his responsibility henceforth. ”

“His declaration of affection is not equivalent to signing an employment contract,” Omokri stated. “It doesn’t mean he is now obligated to fund your lifestyle indefinitely. Love is not a financial agreement, and it should never be treated as one.”
He reminded women that their bills and expenses remain their responsibility, regardless of relationship status. He likened the expectation of financial support from a partner to commercializing affections. “There are payday loans,” he said, “but there is no such thing as payday love!”
”There are payday loans. But there is no payday love! This is a New Year. Be a new you. Stop commercialising your affections. If you want money, get a job, not a boyfriend!”
