After serving the company for 15 years, Rubber Estates Nigeria limited honoured Precious Osabougbe Oviawe with an award of excellence.
The award ceremony was held at the company’s head office in Araromi, Ondo State, Nigeria.
Rubber Estates Nigeria Limited is a major player in the Agro-Allied industry in Nigeria, a member of SIFCA Group in lvory Coast. We operate Plantations in Ondo, Ogun, Delta and Edo States in Nigeria.
The awardee who currently serves as the Divisional Manager at Rubber Estate Nigeria Ltd, Adeola Site Ogun State, managed divisional operations, supervises rubber tapping and collection, ensure maintenance in the field, follow up on heavy duty equipment such as tractors and trucks, provide PPE and safety awareness for the workers, follow up on cost management to meet the budget outline and ensures quality rubber that meets costumers standards.
The Agric Manager of the Rubber Estates, Nigeria, Patrick Obiem, described Precious as a valuable asset to the company, disclosing that he has impacted the company positively through his dedication, creativity and outstanding professional skills.
He added that his impact has made implementing preventive maintenance and schedules possible, adding that Precious has championed environmental sustainability within the company and agricultural operations in Nigeria at large.
Also speaking at the event, the HSE/DD Manager of the company, Okeosisi Jonathan , described the awardee as a professional who has contributed immensely to the company and the professional development of his colleagues and subordinates.
He stated, “He is always willingly to get the job done, no matter the challenges that may arise”.
Precious while speaking, appreciated his company for recognizing his effort and services since he began operations with the company.
According to him, the award of excellence will serve as encouragement to him and to be more committed to do more.
Precious further expressed that his leadership journey began with foundational roles in field supervision and replanting officer, where he mastered land mapping, soil management, pest control, and sustainable planting techniques.
The awardee who Progressed through positions such as Replanting officer, Maintenance Officer and Divisional manager, consistently demonstrated his ability to align operational efficiency with organizational goals.
According to him, his earlier experience in sales at the Nigerian Bottling Company, strengthened his communication and client relationship skills, enhancing his capacity to lead in both agricultural and business contexts.
Beyond corporate responsibilities, he has championed community impact projects, including the palm oil Production Process at Edo State College of Agriculture iguoriahki, the Fertility Enhancement Initiative for Ugbineh Farmers Association, and organic farming training programs for agricultural students.
These initiatives have boosted local productivity, improved knowledge transfer, and promoted sustainable practices.
Precious Oviawe Osabougbe, is a seasoned agricultural professional with over 18 years of proven expertise in crop production, sales, maintenance, and team management, land preparation and planting of over 2000ha, irrigation projects, supervision of a nursery capacity of 11 ha. Recognized for his hands-on leadership and strategic approach. He has successfully overseen large-scale agricultural operations, led irrigation projects, trained farmers, and optimized farm productivity across multiple Nigerian states.
In anticipation of advancing his knowledge in agriculture, has also attended agricultural seminars and conferences in South Africa and Ghana.
Furthermore, He holds certifications in operational management and effective leadership skills. He possesses a well-rounded competence that blends technical expertise with strategic oversight. His career reflects a commitment to agricultural excellence, farmer empowerment, and sustainable development—hallmarks of a leader shaping Nigeria’s agricultural landscape for long-term growth.
Beyond his decades-long leadership in agricultural operations, Precious is making strides in agricultural research with a strong focus on leveraging Artificial Intelligence to address climate and food security challenges.
He is currently working on two significant publications: “The Global Cultivation of Climate-Resilient Crops: Addressing Contemporary Agricultural Challenges in Greenfield Development” – This research is set to explore innovative strategies for developing crop varieties capable of thriving in diverse climate conditions, with practical recommendations for greenfield agricultural projects worldwide.
His second research, “AI and Climate-Smart Farming: Ensuring Food Security Through Organic Methods” In this research, Oviawe aims to examine how Artificial Intelligence can be integrated into sustainable farming systems. Based on his findings, he will be proposing AI-driven solutions for crop monitoring, pest control, and yield optimization, with a strong emphasis on organic practices that protect soil health and biodiversity.
Through these forthcoming publications, he is set to contribute fresh insights into how AI can bridge the gap between modern technology and traditional farming methods. His research interest underscores the importance of climate adaptation, sustainable resource use, and digital innovation in securing the future of global food production.
By combining hands-on experience in large-scale farming with thought leadership in emerging agricultural technologies, He is helping shape the conversation around AI-driven climate-smart agriculture—positioning himself as both a practitioner and a knowledge contributor in the sector.
