Remi Tinubu urges prayers, compassion in Lenten season message

 

The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to embrace prayer, repentance, and acts of kindness during the Lenten season, emphasising the need for renewed commitment to faith and service.

In a statement marking the beginning of Lent, the First Lady urged Christians to follow Christ’s example of love and compassion, using the season as an opportunity for spiritual growth and selflessness.

“The Lenten season is a time of repentance, supplication, prayers, and good deeds. As we begin this season, may it strengthen our resolve to follow Christ’s example of love,” she said.

Remi Tinubu encouraged Nigerians to draw closer to Christ, show kindness to others, and deepen their commitment to serving their communities.

She also called for collective prayers for the nation, urging citizens to seek peace and prosperity as they work together to build a stronger Nigeria.

“We should also remember our dear nation, Nigeria, in prayers for peace and prosperity, as we all build together a nation that will take her place among the comity of nations,” she added.

The First Lady concluded her message by wishing Nigerians a blessed and spiritually rewarding Lenten season.
