The Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) of President Bola Tinubu on education under first lady, Remi Tinubu has distributed 50,000 exercise books and launched Unity Fabric in Zamfara state.

Remi Tinubu who launched the unity fabric and formal distribution of exercise books on Tuesday at Dr Garba Nadama Conference Hall in Gusau, the state capital, was represented by the wife of Zamfara state Governor Hajiya Huriya Dauda Lawal.

Hajiya Huriya Dauda said Nigeria with a population of over two hundred million people, leadership from top to bottom needs someone who is focused and meticulous in decision-making and inclusive administration.

“The first lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu has been a pillar to her husband as a rare gem,” she said.

According to her, Tinubu administration has come up with different programmes aimed at encouraging the citizens of the country.

She said, “Education which is the backbone of development has remained the top priority of President Bola Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has followed suit. Through her Renewed Hope Initiative, education has received a boost.

“She has embarked in the distribution of books to junior and senior secondary school students across the country, Zamfara has received her share.

“Today, we also gather here to celebrate a momentous occasion – the launching of Unity Fabric, this fabric represents more than just a piece of cloth. It symbolizes our shared values, our diversity, and our unity as a people.”

She explained that Unity Fabric is a beacon of hope, a reminder that we are stronger together than we are alone.

“This fabric will be worn with pride by people from all walks of life, from every corner of our nation. It will be a symbol of our commitment to unity, to equality, and to justice,” she said.

In his address, the Chairman, Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board, Professor Nasiru Garba Anka said the occasion underscores the commitment of present administration to providing essential tools for academic excellence.

“Education is necessary to raise a person’s standard of living. As it gives us all the necessary goods and awareness about how we can increase our earnings with the use of our brains and knowledge,” he said.

Anka said teaching and learning materials will aid and assist students in concretizing their learning experience therefore make learning more exciting, interesting and interactive.

“Her Excellency today as a caring and educated mother who wants the children and students of Zamfara State to excel in their education pursuit at the Junior and senior secondary school is performing this grand event, which is commendable, praise worthy and laudable!! We thank Your Excellency for the show of care and concern to the education sector especially the girl child.

“His Excellency as an exemplary and visionary leader has given us all the support needed in the education sector by declaring state of emergency in education in Zamfara State.

“It is therefore our responsibility to ensure that every child has access to quality education, regardless of their background or circumstances which today Her Excellency is affirming with this event of distribution of learning materials to 30 schools across the state,” he said..

He explained that Zamfara State was faced with challenges in the past in education sector, including low enrollment rates, high illiteracy rates, and inadequate infrastructure and resources.

“But today that story is being narrated with a positive change due to the commitment, support and political exhibited by your kind husband, a charismatic and transformative leader per excellence,” he added.
